- Meta-analysis of monotherapy versus combination therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension (Protocol synopsis)
- Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA)
From simple beginnings – four women who met around a kitchen table in Florida in 1990 – the Pulmonary Hypertension Association has evolved into a community of well over 10,000 pulmonary hypertension patients, caregivers, family members and medical professionals.
Medical professionals will be particularely interested by the section PHA Online University.
The web site now has international ramifications:
- Foundation of Hypertension Artérielle Pulmonaire Québec (Fondation HTAPQ)
The purpose and goals of the Fondation HTAPQ are devided into 3 parts:
Direct help for affected people in need
Setting up support groups and organising a conference every two years
Publishing a newsletter "Le Virevent d'Isabelle", organising other activities particularely during the PAH awareness month, and maintaining our web site
- The Research Center of the Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (CRIUCPQ)
The Institut universitaire de cardiologie et de pneumologie de Québec (Hôpital Laval) Research Center is internationally renowned for the leading role of its researchers and is financed by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS). Research is centered around three main research themes: cardiology, respirology, and obesity and energy metabolism. In very close relationship with the overspecialization fields of the Institut, these themes have ongoing interactions between them thus promoting rich collaborations between clinical and fundamental researchers. The addition of the obesity and energy metabolism research theme in 2000 proved to be both a pivotal and successful occasion for the Research Centre. The Center has all the assets to carry out its innovative vision of leading-edge research in cardiology, respirology and obesity. The IUCPQ Research Center is the only research center in Canada to house such research themes, and its development is consistent with the vision of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
- Respiratory Health Network tissue bank of the FRQS
The Tissue Bank of the Respiratory Health Network of the FRQS (RHN-FRQS) is a network of research centers that collect and bank human tissues using high quality standards. Despite the importance of scientific results obtained from animal models, it is imperative for researchers to be able to work on tissue samples obtained from human subjects with respiratory diseases in order to aid their search in identifying and elucidating the causes and mechanisms involved. The availability of human material of high quality, well documented and in large quantities is essential for improving our understanding of respiratory diseases
